Ok, this is a little inside joke! In the salsa world we would describe this following routine as being SICK!!

And to me this routine was so sick (In other words, so good, so bad ass, so amazing) that
it made me threw up!! ;) . The group is called Yamulee, Their salsa timing, their speed, their
execution, their dancing, their choreography, and their flavor is what makes them one of the
top salsa teams in the world! I was lucky to see them salsa in San Francisco just a few weeks ago.

Enjoy!

Are you absolute beginner or a newcomer, novice, intermediate, or maybe an advanced amateur salsa dancer? If so, here is some very exciting news to you!! Ricardo Sanchez with PB & G Productions is producing the first ever US Salsa Open competition where all levels of salsa dancers are welcomed and encouraged to compete. Here is your chance of a lifetime to compete in salsa, to feel like one of those dancers in the dancing with the stars!!

What a fantastic idea! But wait, it gets even better!!

Would you really like to compete, but are a little nervous about the idea? Well, hear me out, the best part about the US Salsa Open is that you won’t just be thrown in the floor with some stranger (although, there is a division for that too called a Jack & Jill). No, you will actually get to compete with guess who? Yes, your very own salsa dance instructor you know and like.

Simply, contact your salsa dance instructor. You will schedule a time to meet with him/her for a period of month before the competition and train and practice privately to get ready for the event. And there are many categories to choose from. Over 40 year olds (one person has to be over 40), Pro-Am Cha-Cha, Pro-Am On1, Pro-Am On2, Bachata, Teens, and many others. You can also choose to compete in a category to do a choreographed routine or to compete in the freestyle category to show off your hottest social dance moves.

And guess what? The event has over $15,000 in prices and boasting some of the best judges in the salsa world including Frankie Vasquez, Osmar Perrones, Billy & Katie Fajardo, Steve Vasco, Karel Florez, Victor Burgos, Gaby Bernal and others. It is truly going to be an event to remember for a long time.

Salsa instructors all around the Bay and other areas are gearing up to the competition and getting their students ready for this exciting event. You have seen many professional dance performances I am sure. But this time you will get to be the star! Not only that! This event will also be televised by Telemundo. Wow! Can you imagine the faces of your friends if they saw you on TV dancing with a professional salsa dancer?

So what are you waiting for? Contact your salsa dance instructor right now for details and start getting ready for the competition. I am still looking for maybe two more students to compete with, if you are interested in competing with me, click here to find out more. The US Salsa Open will be held at Oakland Marriott Convention Center on July 22nd – 23rd, 2010.
